One more semester done....

While this semester was a very hectic, complicated, and busy semester academically, I can say that my friendships here at IU have been the best. I have developed some of my friendships in a way I never thought possible, I have discovered some people really aren't worth your time, and I have discovered some amazing new friendships within my program. It truly has been a wonderful semester. My grades continue to be amazing, B's are a letter of the past and I can not express how happy that makes me. I've taken on a job this semester and have found an even better one for the summer that will allow me to work with children again and outside! The pay is good, the opportunity to spend a summer outside in Bloomington, working with children again, and being involved with a camp are what make this job absolutely for me. I am excited and looking forward to this summer.
Family and close friends continue to be important in my life. My family is doing well, moving on for some people has begun. With the passing of Poppy Chuck, I wish my cousin, Jeff nothing but the best and a new life ahead. My mom is still in Maryland. They have a new puppy who is absolutely adorable. I can't wait to see her in person. There should be some trips on both sides for that, and I for one, can not wait. I get to spend a week with my uncles and cousin this summer out in Oklahoma. Besides that, I GET TO SEE DMB out there too. I look forward to this for so may reasons and am sure it will be a highlight of the summer. Things with McKay could not be any better. He is absolutely amazing, and we have only grown closer in these past months. I can't believe how far we have come and only look forward to what will be an amazing life together. Grace is doing well, she'll be 3 this week. It's crazy how much she has grown and matured. She really is an amazing dog, and I can't imagine not having her around every day.
I closed several chapters of my life with the conclusion of this semester. Perhaps in a later posting I will dive into these subjects. For now, I think they will remain with me and those that were around. To be honest, I don't want to take the time yet to reflect, but it will happen.
For now, life is wonderful and I look forward to this summer....and maybe some more consistent updates with this. No promises though.

Done with another semester of classes, and I am very happy. Unless I got an F on my last major assignment for a class which is VERY VERY unlikely, I ended the semester with all A's. Can we say YIPPEE! I may not have had much of a social life, but I got the shit done and now I can enjoy the results. Good luck to everyone with finals, I remember having 5 in one week and it sucks. However, the end is near and break will be wonderful. Here's to a wonderful break capped off with a Hoosier victory in the Insight Bowl. If you will be in Indy over break, give me a call. We can hang out....especially if I haven't seen you in forever. I do miss my friends, high school and those I met shortly after, *cough* Kenny *cough* To all my Hoosiers, see ya next year, unless you are going to Arizona. We will ring in the New Year right!

The end of summer is approaching, seeing that I didn't graduate due to my change of major I am heading back to Bloomington for more school and fun. The best news, in my opinion, is that McKay will be moving back to Indiana with me. He has an apartment in Greenwood and will be working in Indy. I am so happy to have him coming back with me. I am completely in love with him and couldn't imagine being without him close by. Each day I spend with him just reminds me how happy he makes me. Ok, enough sappy cheesy-ness. Anyway, Devon and I have a new house on the northwest side of campus by the bypass, and I couldn't be more happy. I can't wait to move into that house and am very very happy to be out of where I was living. Things should be good this year. My schedule is very busy with 19 credit hours, a fifth year of hundred, having McKay within driving distance, and finding a job to make some cash money dolla. So...with that said, I have taken the time to write my letter for conditional status during the fall semester at IU. I don't feel I have the time to fully commit with everything going on this semester, but I think without hundred in the spring I can devote that bit of time back to sigma. We will see what happens. I feel like I need to allow more time with McKay too when I am free with him moving back to Indiana to be near me. He is sacrificing a lot and has worked hard to find a job in Indy just to be close to me, so I am more than willing to do whatever I can to help him and spend time with him. Hundred, 19 credit hours, work, and McKay will take up my time. Well, of course friends too, but I think I will be very busy come August and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love my life and look forward to getting back to IU and everything that comes with it. I miss everyone from IU and can't wait to see you all in a couple short weeks. :)

First off, to my many readers (humor me) I apologize for my lack of updating. However, lots has been happening and life is looking good. I have been living in Maryland for the summer. Why the hell would RaeAnn leave glorious Bloomington for summer in Maryland, you may ask? Well, a few reasons. 1. I hate the house I was living at and am very happy to be out of it and moving into a wonderful place next year conveniently located off the bypass near the stadium and new HH. 2. McKay is out here. I tell you what, things are going great with he and I. He is going to be coming back to Indiana with me hopefully. He has a few prospective audio jobs in various places in Indy. If it all works out he will get a job there and be visiting B-town whenever possible. 3. It's nice to be living just outside D.C. and a few short hours from the Ocean. McKay and I took a trip to Assateague Island and camped. It was so much fun and the wild ponies came near our camp. Living close to D.C. also lends to several free attractions that McKay and I have been taking advantage of. Also, we have gone to 3 Nationals games. Baseball games are great and we can get tickets for $5 and it's just a nice night all around. So you see, that is why I decided to move out to Maryland for the summer. I miss Bloomington and all the wonderful people there a great deal, but I will be back at the beginning of August and fun will commence again. Also, I will be making a trip to Indiana next week to see my family, primarily my cousin Reagan, but it should be a good time with a possible trip to Bloomington. I wish I could make it into Bloomington this weekend for the memorial service; however, that doesn't seem possible. Thoughts and prayers to all of you who will be there. Thanks for taking the time to pay tribute to one of the greatest Hoosiers. I miss you all terribly in Indiana. Hopefully I will update more often....until then <3

I have been sick for three weeks now including a cold bronchitis and the flu. I am a walking time bomb. I have been taking medicine and sleeping and still nothing. First off, HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY MATT!

I just finished taking my first test of the semester on 4.5 hours of sleep due to driving the drunken birthday boy and his brigade around last night. Last night wasn't bad and the test.. I'd say it went pretty well, nothing I didn't know something about. Now I am sitting in the ed school waiting for my next class because I got done early. I've decided I should not be allowed to look at facebook or maybe get rid of some friends I supposidly have on it. I read things and it's just upsetting because there is a large group of people from my life for all of high school and a huge chunk of college that I don't talk to anymore because of differences and what not which have occurred. Honestly, I'm just as much to blame as the next person which is why I think I find it so hard to move past it all. The fact that we still have mutual friends makes it extremely difficult. One particular friend is having a party this weekend, really good friend through grade school and high school and I'd like to think on to college....but I know nothing about any of it because of what has happened with other friends. It sucks having to lose so many people in your life because of differences, stubburness, and so many other things. That's not to say I'm not happy now, but sometimes I just think about it all...something will spark a memory and I'm like "Yeah....I miss those times and people" A lot of change has happened in the last year, some good, some bad, I don't really know how I feel about it all. I suppose it's true that when you are happy you are on top of the world and when you are sad you feel like your world is ending. I suppose I just need to cheer up, smile, or something. The truth of it all is, I'm just kind of down right now. I don't know how else to put it. Nothing really bad has happened, but I just don't feel as happy as usual. Who knows, maybe something this week will turn my mood around or cheer me up. Maybe it's just the time of year it is and this snow...doesn't really help that much. Anyway, that's my vent I suppose for the current moment. I'm going to go read and get some homework down for tomorrow so I can sleep all night. Stay warm out there everyone! <3

Finals have been over for almost a week now, which is very nice. Following finals I got to spend my last in Bloomington at dinner with McKay, Jamal, and Seth who are hands down three of my most favorite people ever. We went to Cheeseburger in Paradise. Following that was some beer pong/beirut for the night with McKay and Mike. I managed to drink an entire bottle of wine and wake up the next morning without a hangover....most likely because we drank for a decent amount of time. Last Saturday was the drive to Maryland with McKay. It seemed to take forever, Ohio sucks, but I can say ther eis nobody I'd rather make that long and boring drive with. I've been "home" in Maryland now for a few days and I kind of like it. I got to go see McKay's house, eat at a restaurant with really good margaritas, meet all but one of his boys from home, meet his sister, rode the metro from here all the way to McKay's all by myself, spent time with my family, finish Christmas shopping, and see Charlotte's Web. I suppose that's a lot to have done since sunday, but I am trying to enjoy all my time out here. Oh and if you have a thing for Children's books and movies, go see Charlotte's Web. It's very cute. I definitely suggest it. Oh and as far as the beer pong/beirut went, don't worry guys I represented the Hoosiers well and only lost 2 games all night. Now I am just chillin' here at the my mom's place. I will be doing some baking this afternoon and plan on going for a run to pass the time. The rest of my family, Dad, Danny, Veronica, Macy, and Grace will be arriving sometime tomorrow night which should be good. However, McKay is leaving tomorrow for a week in Florida with his family to see his grandparents. :( I can't wait for him to get back and for our Christmas together. Oh yeah, IU plays tonight and it's not on tv out here for me to watch which really sucks. Anyway, that's pretty much all that has happened to me out here. I'm enjoying it so far. banquets are over....no more dressing up until Christmas!

Lots has happened in the last week, some things I really don't care to talk about. The overplayed song "Move Along" comes to mind. Anyway, I'm glad to be done with several parts of my life and things that have taken place over the past years.

It's crazy that this semester is almost done, nothing remains but finals. I am happy to be done but then I know just one more semester before several important people in my life will be graduating and leaving IU. I don't think I'll ever graduate. I hate how switching my major has put me here longer. Although, at least I have several great friends who are a year or two younger meaning they will be here with me. Thoughts like that bring me comfort in knowing close friends are leaving. In other news, I believe my brother may be down here next year as a student. Maybe I would actually get to see him a little more regularly....that would be nice.

Devon and I went to church together this past weekend. It was nice to have someone to go with. Hopefully we make this a more common thing. I believe my faith is one thing that I have been lacking in my life right now. Oh and if you like free pancakes, St. Paul's Monday Night 10:00.....be there!

Thanksgiving already? Where the heck has this year gone? As much as I love break, I'm a big baby and want to be back at school. I don't want to go to class, but I want to hang out with my friends and amazing boyfriend, no class no homework, just good times with those people. Is that too much to ask? I've had a lot of fun this semester with beer pong at schuyler and tim's, hanging out with anna, adam, and mike, random parties, and of course all of the time I have been with mckay. It's been a great semester so far. Anyway, I will be back and forth from Bloomington the next few days for Thanksgiving break and playing at the Volleyball games. For $40 a game, the drive back down from Avon/Indy isn't bad at all. Most my family won't be around for Thanksgiving this year, but I have Seth and Jamal up here with me from school which makes it that much better. RIght now we are all being dorks with our laptops chillin' in the living room watching tv. Jamal has to get his Real World fix for the week. :) Anyway, tonight we went out to dinner which was fun. There was a magician at the restaurant who made me a fun hate and Jamal a scorpion out of balloons, a definite bonus for the evening. Anyway, we have sufficient amount of alcohol and plenty of food for tomorrow. It should be a good day. Have a safe and great thanksgiving everyone!

In Memory of Jay Price

This past week I received a phone call from several of my friends...the first to actually tell me was Emily. "RaeAnn, you know Jay committed suicide right?" I never ever thought I would hear those words from anyone. Let me put in perspective for you who Jay Price was. Jay was my boss, mentor, and friend this entire summer. He is the reason I was able to do my job at camp. I was a camp counselor at Bradford Woods all summer working with children and adults with special needs. It was very rough at times but Jay was definately one of the reasons I could stay. Finding out this amazing man took his own life has turned my world upside down. Jay was camp for me and so many people. His spirit, attitude, and overall demeanor set the stage for camp and all of the people there. No words I could come up with would ever due justice to him or the amount of respect I have for him. Leaving camp one of my thoughts was, I want to be like Jay. I want to have that great impact on people. I remember when he announced his retirement of sorts from camp and how this would be his last full summer. One of my campers cried. A 13 year old boy cried at the thought of coming back to camp with no Jay Price. That's how much the campers and staff looked up to Jay. He was a friend, a mentor, a leader, a father, a camper at heart. One day when I returned to camp after being sick Jay and I went for a walk and got to talk. I will never forget the talk or the words he said to me. I will never forget his smile, his blue Indiana hat, talking IU basketball, his love for camp and the campers. I will never forget Jay Price. Every memory I have with Jay this past summer has been playing over and over in my head this weekend. I wanted so bad to be there with all of our friends remembering his life but due to my schedule and band that was not possible, so instead the thoughts and memories were constant. That may be why I was so crazy saturday morning at rehearsal....trying to take away the pain. Losing someone in your life is always hard. This past week the world lost one of the greatest men I have ever had the privelage of meeting. I feel bad for all of you who will never have the opportunity to meet Jay Price, but the lives he has touched are so great in number you are bound to know somebody he reached out to. Thank you Jay for everything you did for me and all those in your life. You will be forever remembered and missed. Rest in peace.
